MILIMANI
SCHOOL PROYECT

DRAFT
.

The school is located in the heart of Rusinga Island, within Lake Victoria, Kenya. The project began in 2005 as a response movement to support vulnerable children, many of them orphans and without the possibility of access to education.

.

Since its founding, the school has provided primary education to boys and girls from 3 to 13 years old. We started with 30 children and we have quadrupled our capacity, supporting 150 children who come from different contexts and family situations. We strive to break the cycle of poverty by providing comprehensive development for children and the local community. The school not only provides them with education, but also provides them breakfast and lunch every day, in some cases this is the only food they receive all day.

.

Our association has been collaborating with the school since 2016, sending volunteers, internships and school supplies. Through internships and international volunteering, the technical and financial resources necessary for the continuity of the school are obtained, and the hope is kept alive that these disadvantaged children will prosper and become productive members and future leaders of the community.
